Festive World of Warcraft updates
[2007-12-10]
CVG reports that developer of World of Warcraft, Blizzard Entertainment, has announced that they'll be adding
numerous features and content to the enormously popular MMORPG in the lead up to Christmas.
World of Warcraft's annual Winter Veil event, which commences December 15, will feature the regular snowball
fights, as well as the ability to turn flying mounts into airborne reindeer by going on a series of holidays
quests that will ultimately yield The Preserved Holly. In other pet-related Yuletide news, a Mechanotoy is
available from the Winter Veil trees in Ironforge and Orgimmar. In addition, standing under the mistletoe and
kissing an NPC called Winter Reveller will result in a Handful of Snowflakes, which you can use on another player
to cause a pleasant amount of snow to fall on the target.
The festivities don't end there, as from the 25th, The Burning Crusade bosses will be clad in Christmas-themed
costumes and will drop appropriately red and white loot. The affected bosses are as follows:
  • Grand Warlock Netherkurse (Shattered Halls)
  • Grandmaster Vorpil (Shadow Labyrinth)
  • Exarch Maladaar (Auchenai Crypts)
  • Captain Skarloc (Durnholde Keep)
  • Nethermancer Sepethrea (Mechanar)
  • High Botanists Freywinn (Botanica)
